A dance troupe from Macao has returned to Dunhuang, Gansu province, for a second year to study the local dance and explore new ways to bring the ancient art form to contemporary audiences.
"Cultural relics can speak for themselves. They show us the greatness of the Chinese mainland and the vastness of our 5,000 years of history," said Hsu Po-yih, a Taiwan artist, during his visit to Dunhuang, Northwest China's Gansu province.
At the 3rd World Conference of Sinologists in Dunhuang, Jiuquan, from June 2 to 4, internaional scholars immersed themselves in traditional practices like calligraphy and paper cutting.
