Yumen, a county-level city in Jiuquan, Gansu province, has integrated into Jiuquan's strategy of establishing itself as a national logistics hub, enhancing its foreign trade landscape. A batch of specialized enterprises has expanded their international reach, fueling the high-quality economic growth of the city.
Yumen Qianhua Pharmaceutical, focusing on pharmaceutical intermediates and fine chemicals, is exporting to Japan, South Korea, and India. Chairman Li Jianping said both production and sales have increased by 10 percent compared to the previous year.
The company's commitment to quality and stable production has expanded its export share, with new orders now reaching Hungary and Argentina. This marks the first exports of Jiuquan's chemical products to the two countries, opening the company to the European and South American markets.
Yumen Dayang Tianqing Petrochemical, a leader in electronic specialty gases, exports high-quality products globally. By shifting to self-managed exports from entrusted agency exports, the company has boosted its competitiveness.
Deputy General Manager Shang Pengfei highlighted the company's efforts to enter overseas markets under the Belt and Road Initiative, with four batches exported to South Asia and the Middle East in 2025.
Yumen supports this growth by implementing foreign trade policies, helping companies expand their global footprints. These efforts have expanded trade partnerships to 18 countries, elevating the city's openness and economic potential.
