Hongguang village in Jinta county, Jiuquan, became a vibrant hub of celebration as the Jiuquan City Rural Tourism and Jinta County Spring Blossom and Outing Festival began on April 3.

Xinghua Street came alive with apricot blossoms and colorful flags, drawing large crowds to displays of local agricultural products, stalls of handmade food, and various performance stages.

The opening ceremony started with a dynamic drum performance. Guests filled the venue, enjoying diverse performances including solos and instrumental concerts. A qipao (the traditional Chinese dress for women) show added some traditional sartorial elegance, blending with the blooming apricot flowers. Meanwhile, a paper-cutting artist attracted attention with intricate patterns of apricot flowers and dragons.

In the agricultural product area, Jinta's specialty fruits and handmade items were showcased. The aroma of local delicacies such as oil cakes and roasted bread filled the air. A culinary competition saw chefs creating delicious Jinta specialties, offering judges and visitors a taste of the region's rich culinary culture.

This 10-day festival includes four chapters and 25 activities, offering unique experiences like fishing, fruit-picking, and traditional farming. For the first time, an "Apricot Blossom Fairy" contest will be held.

Jinta County has focused on cultural tourism, enhancing resources and upgrading attractions. Last year, visitor numbers and tourism revenue rose by 33.7 percent and 26 percent, respectively, year-on-year.
