Jiuquan led all prefecture-level cities in Gansu province in the selection of new cultural and tourism landmarks, with 17 sites making the province’s list of 100. The results were unveiled on Dec 5 at a cultural and tourism promotion event.

More than 230 candidate sites underwent multiple rounds of screening, public voting by over a million participants, and expert review before the final selection. The chosen sites reflect both public popularity and the quality-driven development of Gansu's cultural and tourism sector.

The selected landmarks in Jiuquan are spread across the city's key districts and counties, including Jinta county and Subei county, and include science and technology attractions that highlight Jiuquan's role as China's spaceflight hub, such as a space technology experience hall.

In addition, the list covers innovative culture-tourism programs that blend performance, heritage, and immersive experiences inspired by Dunhuang culture. Together, these sites underline the diversity of Jiuquan's tourism resources, combining history and modernity, culture and technology.
