The Yanchiwan National Nature Reserve in Subei Mongolian autonomous county, Jiuquan, in Northwest China's Gansu province, has welcomed a new generation of migratory bird chicks.

The chicks, guided by adult birds, are venturing out of their nests to learn how to forage and survive. Their endearing behavior adds a lively touch to the lush green wetland.

Recent monitoring data indicates that about 8,000 migratory birds are currently breeding in Yanchiwan wetland. The most common species include black-necked cranes, bar-headed geese, mallards, red-crested pochards and gray geese.

In recent years, Subei county has made significant efforts to enhance the ecological functions of the wetland, creating an excellent habitat for migratory birds to live and reproduce.
