The inauguration ceremony for Astronergy Jiuquan Base's 2GW high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon solar cell project took place in the Jiuquan Economic-Technological Development Area, Jiuquan city, Gansu province, on Oct 13. 

Wang Liqi, Party secretary of Jiuquan; Tang Peihong, deputy Party secretary of Jiuquan and mayor of the city, along with Lu Chuan, director of the board of directors of CHINT Group; chairman of Chint Solar and president of Astronergy, jointly initiated the project.

Participants attending the ceremony also included officials from Jiuquan Party committee such as Li Yongjun, Wang Haiming, Zhao Feng, He Zhengjun, Li Shengqian, Shifeng, Jia Taibin and representatives from Chint Solar, including Huang Haiyan, Ren Wei, as well as Astronergy executives Huang Qiyin and Zheng Zhiwei.

Lu delivered a speech during the inauguration, and Shi Feng, deputy mayor of the city and Party secretary of the Jiuquan Economic-Technological Development Area, presided over the event.

CHINT Group, headquartered in Zhejiang province, is a leading private photovoltaic power generation enterprise in China. This 2GW high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon solar cell project represents a concrete step in the city's comprehensive implementation of the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality strategy and the development of the city's regional growth pattern. 

This collaboration between Jiuquan and the prominent enterprise marks a new stage of closer and stronger cooperation, further enhancing CHINT Group's competitive advantage in Jiuquan's photovoltaic industry chain.

In turn, it will play a significant role in expanding the city's new energy equipment manufacturing cluster, accelerating the cultivation of a hundred-billion-level industrial base and establishing a new energy industry demonstration zone.

A symposium and signing ceremony were conducted for the Jiuquan photovoltaic equipment intelligent manufacturing industrial base project, which involves collaboration between the Jiuquan municipal government and Chint New Energy Technology Co. This marks a pivotal moment in CHINT's plan to invest in the third phase of a 10GW High-Efficiency Monocrystalline Silicon Solar Cell Project.
